Solarex Istanbul: The Solar Industry's Annual Meeting in Türkiye
Once a year, Istanbul Expo Center in Yeşilköy turns into the busiest solar marketplace between Europe and Asia. Solarex Istanbul was Türkiye's first fair dedicated entirely to solar energy, and today it covers the whole chain in one place: cells and modules, inverters, batteries and storage systems, mounting structures and trackers, cables, connectors, junction boxes, measurement and monitoring equipment, plus the EPC companies that turn all of it into operating power plants.
The fair is held every April at Istanbul Expo Center, a short drive from the Bakırköy and Ataköy hotel districts on the European side of the city. Exact dates for each edition are announced by the organizer, Voli Fuar Hizmetleri, on the fair's official website.
The 2026 edition shows the scale this fair operates at: 401 exhibitors across six halls, 108 of them from abroad, and 43,789 visitors, of whom 9,824 came from outside Türkiye, more than 40 countries in total, Germany, China, India, the USA and the UAE among them. Those aisles carry importers looking for suppliers, EPC firms comparing datasheets, and investors shopping for storage partners. A visitor gives an unfamiliar stand a few seconds before walking on. What happens in those seconds is our job, not yours.
Stand Design Built Around Solar Products
A solar stand goes wrong the moment the product is treated like a poster. Modern full-size modules are taller than a person; flat against a wall they read as dark rectangles. Set on angled racking at roof pitch, with light placed correctly, the same module explains itself from ten meters away. That is the kind of detail this fair rewards.
Storage adds a second problem: weight. Commercial battery cabinets arrive on pallets and want level, load-bearing bases, and if you plan to run a live system, cabling has to be planned into the floor and walls rather than taped over them. Inverter displays need real power and some airflow. Connector and cable brands sell parts that fit in a pocket, so we build them backlit sample walls where a small product becomes visible from the aisle. And since much of what gets signed at Solarex is distribution and project business, a closed meeting room, quiet enough for numbers to be discussed, earns its square meters back several times over.

How the Build Works When You Are Not in Istanbul
Nearly all the exhibitors we work with manage their stand remotely, so the process assumes you will not set foot in Istanbul until opening week. It starts with your floor plan, product list and goals. Our designers turn that into a photorealistic 3D model, and revisions continue until the layout and the budget both sit right. Production then runs in our own workshops in Türkiye: carpentry, metalwork and digital printing under one quality control, which is also why our rates undercut Western European contractors without the finish giving it away.
On site, we deliver to Istanbul Expo Center, complete the build inside the official build-up window and hand over a cleaned, tested stand before the doors open. A site team stays on call through all three fair days for repairs, reprints or an extra shelf that suddenly becomes urgent. When the fair closes we dismantle everything, and if you plan to return, reusable elements go into our warehouse until your next participation instead of into a container heading home.
Istanbul Expo Center: Approvals, Height Limits and Deadlines
Raw space stands at this venue need their project approved before build-up: technical drawings, materials and structure all go to the organizer and the venue for sign-off, with static calculations required for tall, suspended or double-deck designs and fire-class rules applying to the materials used. Height limits and technical constraints change from hall to hall, so we confirm the specific conditions of your hall before the design is frozen, not after.
We prepare and submit the whole approval file, follow it up, and adjust the design if a hall constraint forces a change while it still costs nothing. Electrical orders are sized around what your stand actually does; a live storage demonstration draws far more than a lit logo. And because six halls build up at the same time, we schedule transport so that flooring, graphics and your own product crates do not arrive on top of each other.

How far in advance should we book our Solarex stand?
Design work realistically needs 8 to 10 weeks before the fair, since raw space projects must be approved before build-up. With the fair held in April, that means having your stand partner confirmed by late January. Double-deck or structurally unusual designs need more lead time for static approval, so start those conversations earlier.
Do you handle the paperwork with the organizer and the venue?
Yes, all of it. The stand project, technical drawings and static calculations are prepared and submitted by us, we follow the file through approval, and hall-specific rules are checked before production starts so nothing needs rebuilding later.
Our products are heavy. Can the stand carry battery cabinets and transformers?
Yes. Load-bearing bases, level platforms and cable routing for live systems are part of our normal solar fair scope. We also coordinate delivery timing with the venue so heavy items arrive when the stand is ready to receive them.
What does a custom Solarex stand cost?
Size, materials, features like a second deck or a live demo setup, all of it moves the number, so there is no honest flat answer. What stays constant is that local production keeps our pricing well below what a Western European contractor would quote for the same stand.
